A Legacy of Educational Excellence Since 1997
The Woodbridge Int. School was established in September, 1997 by Mr. John Aidoo and Mrs. Gladys Aidoo. Its first campus is still at Lagos Town adjacent to Super Hide Out Bakery. The school started with about fifty (50) pupils in the crèche and nursery (department) levels. Now it has a second and an ultra-modern campus at Race Course (Aben Βε Bom) Apremdo a suburb of Takoradi, a five kilometre drive from the Takoradi Township.
It was established to offer tuition and formal education for the pupils and students in the Nursery, Kindergarten, Primary (Basic) and Junior High sectors.
The aims and objectives of Woodbridge Int. School are to promote effective teaching and learning, inculcate good moral and christian upbringing, instill discipline and cleanliness in the children for them to achieve academic excellence/distinction.
As a learning institution, it welcomes the collaboration of all scholars of goodwill, who through the process of study contribute to these aims and objectives in an atmosphere of academic competence. The school has taken upon itself to provide relevant learning experiences formally and informally that will equip the pupils and students with basic skills and a strong foundation for understanding and deal with their environment, their fellow human beings in particular and their nation in general.
The school administratively is run by the Proprietor and the Proprietress, the Board of Governors, the Headmaster and his two Assistants, the Academic Board and PTA Executives. There are other committees which help in extra curricula activities such as the Choreography, Cultural Drumming and Dancing, Food, Library, Sanitation and other standing committees for occasions such as Graduation, Exchange Programmes and Excursion.
The school now has over a thousand pupils with about eighty (80) members both teaching and ancillary staff. It wrote its first Basic Education Certificate Education in April 2007. All the candidates got excellent grades and their first choice of schools. This trend has continued till date.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The school has spacious, comfortable, well ventilated classrooms, an ultra modern computer laboratory with a projector and internet facilities. It has a well stocked library with a seating capacity for over forty (40) students, a dining hall, a sick pupils and staff from their designated bay and seven school buses that convey points to the school and back.
There is also a hostel facility for form three students (optional) and other students who stay out of town. There is also an ultra modern state of the art Science Laboratory to help the students in practical work. There is also a workshop for the catering students purposely for practical work.
